Air Rifle Hunting, Skinning, Cleaning and Cooking a Rabbit, Part 1, 27 oct 2010
I have been asked by so many people to do a video of how to skin and gut a rabbit that when i shot this nice young heathly rabbit one night, i decided to do just that the next morning. This isn't the only way to do this or probably not even the best, but its the way i've learned to do it. This is the first of a two part series, the second part being on a simple way of cooking a rabbit.
Video Rating: 4 / 5
Firefighter, daughter maimed in shooting
A longtime Barrow County firefighter and his daughter suffered maiming gunshot wounds Saturday when they struggled over a deer rifle during a Christmas Day fight.

I skin my rabbits the same way but i like after you make that horizontal when you are skinning up the belly to not cut down but actually cut in an upwards motion because then you don’t get any fur in the meat.

This video was great on helping me figure out a good way to skin and gut a rabbit. I’ve done squirell’s and there sort of tougher to skin but thanks this was a good video and helpful.

@bsacadetmajor Thank you, and yes gutting them in the field when they are fresh is the best way to do it, but i wanted to show people how to gut them in a cleaner and more controlled manner, as it made it easier for me to film.

Nice to see it done right you see so many rabbit skining videos that take a meat clever and chop the legs and head off this will leave bone splitters, and some dont show cutting in between the legs to remove the intestine with the rabbit droppings in,
Just one thing dont you gut your rabbits in the field not long after shooting them,
Great videos
Thanks

@hurryporter I wish, but there is no market for the fur here so they go for crow bait.
December 30th, 2010 - 08:18
How do you deal with the furs ? I guess it could be sold for money
