This scope is really not too bad optically. I watch birds and distant boats with it. It’s light, cheap, easy to use. There are much better scopes, but not for $40. There is of course no changing of the eyepiece, on the other hand, it goes in the bag and it’s all there, without any loose accessories. The little tripod threaded nut appeared to have chewed the threads of the tripod mount on the scope after just a few uses. I thought I needed to replace the mount itself, because the threads looked trashed, but I was able to mount the scope on a photography tripod, and it seems ok after all.

I purchased this scope to view an eagles nest when I discovered that my 7X35 wide angle binoculars were not up to the task. I looked at the nest with a 20 power scope another guy had and was quite impressed with it. (It was a military scope.) I figured this scope being 20 to 60 zoom I ought to really be able to see the nest well. I received the scope today and immediately drove to where the eagles nest is to see it thru this scope. I could not have been more disappointed. I thought I bought something of some quality only to find that it is more like a little kids toy one would get in a box of Cracker Jack. It would not focus clearly nor did it magnify 20 power. I took my binoculars along and looked thru them. They not only magnified more but it was in very good focus. Trying to zoom in with this scope only made the situation worse. I am returning the scope for a refund. I am bitterly disappointed to find out that I not only lose my shipping fee but I have to pay to return it plus pay up to a 30% restocking fee. I sure don’t understand why I would have to pay a restocking fee as I would hope this company would have the decency not to try to sell this to anyone else. They ought to be ashamed to sell it to begin with.
